CABINET OF CURIOSITIES

A Visual Art Exhibition

The concept of a Cabinet of Curiosities, also known as a Wunderkammer or "wonder room," began in the Renaissance. These cabinets were eclectic collections of objects, often showcasing natural history specimens, antiquities, works of art, and other curiosities from around the world. They were designed to inspire awe and curiosity, reflecting the collector’s personal taste and interests. Having a well-curated cabinet of curiosities was also a status symbol, demonstrating the collector's knowledge, wealth, and connections to the wider world.

The exhibition captured this spirit of wonder and discovery. This collection included abstract photography, paintings, sculptures, and treasured objects that hold deep personal significance.

In the past, cabinets of curiosities were a way for their owners to gain social status and recognition. As a woman artist, my intention with this exhibition is not just to showcase my work, but also to touch on themes I consider important for society and humanity. It's my way of sharing a space for reflection and appreciation of the diverse facets of human kind, and the world we live in.

The exhibition also featured pieces by Marita Setas Ferro and Toni Oswald.

From June 26 to August 1 2024, I invited the public to explore this unique exhibition I curated with so much love. It was a celebration of my artistic journey, filled with pieces that mark important moments in my career. Having participated in several group exhibitions, this is was my first solo show, making it a significant milestone for me. Each piece was a testament to the magic that happens when you dare to be yourself.

Through the images bellow you may open this cabinet of curiosities and immerse yourself in a world of art and wonder.
