STREAMS
East Window organized a collective show, for which the theme was “Disgust”, and they kindly invited me to participate. That’s how “Stream” was born.
Although disgust comes in many shapes and forms, most humans are repulsed by the same things: food, sexual and body-related matters. There's also moral disgust, that comes from actions others perform that we don't agree with, or that go directly against our will and way of seeing the world.
For "Stream" I collected a series of fruits and vegetables that reminded me of specific body parts and let them rot. I then photographed the mildew with a special lens I created, to get that weird, abstract effect. The food loses its original shape, but the content's still there, and it's very much alive. It's just a new way of being.
